For this walk, we have made our starting point the Ben Vrackie Carpark, there is a Craigower Parking area, but it can fit 3 cars at most, so can be full often. If you are walking from town, just head towards the Golf Course and you can start from there.
From the parking area, head back towards Moulin, then turn right onto Craiglunie Road, carry on straight on this road towards the Craigower Hill, passing farm buildings - you will see the track going straight across the Golf Course to the treeline, that is where you are headed. Once you reach the gate at the top of the track, walk along the rope lined path and follow the path up through the trees until you come to a forestry track. Just to the left you will see signs for Craigower Summit – head up this path, just over halfway up, you will come to a white sign saying Craigower Hill, keep going you are nearly there.
Once you reach the top there are 2 viewpoints, one looking south down over Pitlochry; the other looking west, up towards loch Tummel & Loch Rannoch, and on a clear day you can see all the way to Glencoe – this viewpoint has an interesting map display giving details of the points of interest in the distance.
Just in front of this display is a sign – ‘Return route to car park’ – head this way to go back down, after a while you will reach the forestry track again, turn right and head back down towards Pitlochry, passing the Wifi mast.
After winding your way back down through the trees, you will reach the point where you crossed the track earlier, so take a left and head back down towards the Golf Course.
